Spray Painter

We have a new position in our Store Development department. We are looking for a Workshop supervisor to supervise a workshop, exercise stock control and provide technical support to ensure timeous, cost-effective, and compliant completion of building, retail outlets and maintenance projects and tasks.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain workshop according to safe working practices and in compliance with the OHASA
- Manage the storage of all stock items and ensure they are stored according to specifications in order to reduce damages and illuminate stock losses
- Perform stock counts on all stock items and address re-ordering requirements with line manager
- Place orders for authorized inventory, and maintain a record of all incoming and outgoing stock to the warehouse
- Perform quality checks on all stock received and raise any quality concerns with the line manager
- Perform quality checks on all stock received from stores and prior to despatching to a store
- Ensure that all retail outlets are built according to specifications and completed on time.
- Conduct retail outlet visits and perform quality control inspections on all fixtures and fitting
- Supervise a technical team and provide guidance and assistance where necessary.
- Supervise and perform the following tasks:

- Preparation of cutting list for new shops utilizing floor plans
- Measure, cut, and shape wood
- Duco spray painting of wooded fittings
- Safely erect new partition walls made of dry walling and other wooden materials
- Install sales counter and display units
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Strip old fittings and fixtures without causing damage to main structures of the building during reinstatement or preparation for renovations
- Perform second fix joinery
- Secure and fasten bulkhead and other suspended materials and equipment
- Remove and chop tiles in retail outlets
- Operate various power tools including and not limited to electrical saws, drills
- Attend and participate in meetings, provide feedback to line manager, and action items where required

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is required
- Qualification in carpentry is required
- Root cause analysis an advantage
- Driver’s license: Code 10 and PDP (Public Drivers Permit) is required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a retail/property/facilities or related environment an advantage
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working with a technical team is required
- Minimum 5 years experience with Duco spray painting is required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a workshop supervisor is required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with sub-contractors an advantage
- Minimum 3 - 5 years retail construction, or shop fitting and carpentry experience and advantage
- Experience with inventory control is a requirement
- Working knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in facilities and property management including but not limited to electrical installations, fixtures, fittings, carpentry an advantage
- Management of workshop tools and equipment is required
- Good understanding and working experience of OHASA
