**Primary Purpose of The Job**
- Develop a good understanding of the objectives, strategy, stakeholders and messages of company.
- Assist in the development of media strategies and identify opportunities on a continual basis to promote company, both internally and externally.
- Draft media releases (and Letters to the Editor), have them approved as per standard procedures, and assist in their distribution and filing
- Follow up media releases (before and/or after release) with phone calls, and liaise with journalists to connect them with the contact person(s) for each media release
- Arrange photo opportunities where possible
- Monitor the effectiveness of, or response to, various media releases and letters
- Keep Media contact lists up-to-date
- Assist in training relevant personnel in media skills
- Organise information workshops, media interviews and press conferences.
- Assist in collating material for the Annual Report
- Produce articles and items for the company Leader Magazine and ensure publications meet the needs of target audiences and deadlines for publication;**Inherent Requirements**

**Education**
- Minimum: B Degree in Journalism/ Communications or equivalent NQF level 5 qualification

**Knowledge & Experience**
- Minimum: 3 years media/ journalism experience
- Knowledge of Government and media structures and protocol
- Knowledge and sound understanding of SA economy
- Publication legalities
