My client (Vereeniging), a food manufacturing company, is seeking an Instrumentation and Control Specialist with 3-5 years' experience in a similar role with experience with extracting data and troubleshooting to optimise control systems.

**Minimum Requirement**
- Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree.
- Min of 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Min of 2 years’ experience in stock control systems (Software and Hardware).
- Experience in an FMCG manufacturing process environment will be beneficial.

**Technical Competency**:

- A+, N+, and Windows 10 understanding.
- Hole in the wall system maintenance experience (desired).
- Date coding machine maintenance (desired).
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills.
- Fault finding and Route cause analysis techniques knowledge.
- Supplier management skills.
- Process control and improvement techniques would be beneficial.
- Data Analytics and trend identification.
- Fault and Route cause analysis principles.
- Understanding PLC system requirements.
- Knowledge of pneumatics and electronics.

**Responsibilities**
- Extracting data from controlling instruments.
- Analyse extracted data for troubleshooting and reporting to use for future optimization of the control system.
- To ensure 100% uptime relating to all hole in the wall process and systems.
- Implementation of process control and information systems with the relevant managers.
- Through maintenance and continuous improvement of the software and hardware.
- Corrective and preventative maintenance on all inline scales and controllers as well as process inspection and coding equipment.
- Liaison with relevant service providers, IT, milling corporate technical team, and relevant managers to implement corrective actions.
- Providing cost estimation on required equipment upgrades.
- To cost-effective packing operations through ongoing monitoring, analysis, forecasting, reporting, and guidance to the relevant plant manager to identify continuous improvement and lean Six Sigma projects.
- To Support continuous improvement of writing and training team on internal standards and SOPs related to the HIW and sharing knowledge through advice, coaching, and training of best practices and legislative requirements as needed.
- To manage process service providers for date coding, metal detectors, or X-ray machines.
- On-time repair maintenance and calibration of instruments to maintain the integrity and reliability of this system.
- Updating to standard work instructions and training manuals.
- Training operators to use equipment correctly with relevant managers.
- Timely contracting and review/amendment of service level agreement.
- Billing and invoicing in collaboration with the relevant managers.
- Tracking performance against agreed deliverables.
- To actively participate in the packing invocoms informing the team of issues for attention, reporting on issues, and ensuring resolution thereof in collaboration with the relevant HOD in all departments.
- To Manage all process service providers relating to packing process control systems.
- On-time repair maintenance and calibration of instruments to maintain the integrity and reliability of these systems.
- Updating to standard work instructions and training manuals.
- Training operators to use the equipment correctly with relevant managers.
- Timely contracting and review and amendment of service level agreement.
