Fitter & Turner

RCL FOODS is seeking an experienced** Fitter & Turner** to join our **Baking Division **based in **Krugersdorp**. The purpose of the role is to perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the machines does not deteriorate.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
REPAIRS AND MAINTENANCE
To ensure efficient and cost-effective maintenance to all mechanical equipment
To conduct equipment inspections to identify and proactively address deviations to prevent breakdowns and quality issues.
To ensure that all breakdowns are attended to in a cost-effective manner
To adhere to the maintenance execution process including ensuring that work orders are complete and correct.
To ensure that all completed work orders/documentation is submitted to the Maintenance Manager for checking and sign off.
To employ first time right approach and that proper fault-finding procedures are correctly followed and recorded
To ensure 95% Plant availability
Inspect drives, motors, belts, bearings, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions following checklists.
Be able to comply with Food safety standards, and previous FMCG experience will be an advantage
Assemble, install and / or repair, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment on steam, Air, and water lines.
Ensure that your department complies with all Health and Safety requirements.
Diagnose, correct, and improve on mechanical problems on plant machinery.

Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Direct and train workers to install, maintain, mechanical equipment and components.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Always ensure proper housekeeping.

**CUSTOMER SERVICE**
Greet guests professionally in a polite and friendly manner.
Provide a responsive, helpful and good quality service to internal customers (colleagues)

**HEALTH AND SAFETY**
Ensure that you familiarize yourself with and follow all safety rules and procedures in place.
Ensure you understand all COSHH regulations and the Pesticide Manual, use only company supplied chemicals and cleaning materials as instructed, and the use of protective clothing and equipment.
Keep secure all cleaning materials and equipment issued.
Ensure all allocated machinery is kept in safe working order.
Take care of your own health and safety and that of your colleagues and customers.
Ensure that you understand the Company Fire Drill Procedures and direct Guests to the nearest fire exits and meeting points.

**OTHER**
Carry out any other ad-hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Grade 12 Senior Certificate and a Trade Test Certificate as a Fitter and Turner
Mechanical skills and experience of at least 3-5 years.
Experience with Baking Machinery, Packing Machinery, blower, compressors and conveying systems will be a definite advantage.
Valid Code 8 driver's licence willing to work overtime, shifts and standby duties.
Proof of the successful completion of a formal Institutionalised Training Programme is essential
FMCG work experience of 5 years and above will be an advantage.
