Core responsibilities - Uses specialised tools to construct, manufacture and assemble

industrial tools and machine components. They're also responsible for the repair and

maintenance of machines. This role's main function is to perform repairs, installations,

replacement, and services various types of equipment and systems.

Additional responsibilities:

- Constructing structural/equipment components from raw materials.
- Using welding equipment to fuse structural components.
- Source equipment and replacement parts.
- Repairing or replacing faulty equipment.
- Utilizing shears, power saws, cutting torches, welding equipment and chipper knives to

cut and weld structural/equipment components as needed.
- Perform system maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
- Inspecting, analyzing and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
- Replacing damaged or defective structural/equipment components as needed.
- Adhering to all work-site safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure optimal functioning and minimize downtime of the plant(s) at all times.
- Plan and maintain the critical spares and equipment stocks,

You will report to the Maintenance Manager, unless otherwise required by the company.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
⇒ Must have welding, boiler making and/or fitter and turner experience,

⇒ The ability to use hand and power tools,

⇒ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills,

⇒ Excellent communication, time management and and organisational skills,

⇒ At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role and environment (manufacturing, piping, pumps,

fitting, boilers, centrifuges, etc.),

⇒ Extensive experience in the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a

processing environment, preferably in waste and/or wastewater treatment,

⇒ Must be willing to work night and/or weekend shifts.

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Paarl, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Maintenance and Technical (welding, etc.): 5 years (required)
