Main Job Purpose
This position is base at our offices in Paarl, Huguenot Toll Plaza and Tunnel,
Applicants must reside in the Paarl/ Wellington area or relocate to these areas
The Electrician will assist in ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the technical department of the company. To ensure compliance with legislation, company policies and procedures as well as contractual obligations.

Education & Experience (minimum requirements to perform the job)

**School**: Grade 12

**Post school**: Minimum N3 and an Electrical Trade Test Section 13

**Job related**: Valid Unendorsed Code EB Drivers License (previously Code 08).

**Experience**: Minimum of 8 Years experience in 11 & 6.6kV installations, Overhead Power Lines, UPS Installations, 400V Generator Back-up Systems, Variable Speed Drives, 6.6kV & 400V Motor installations, Earthing installations and General Domestic Electrical installations, Experience in Electrical Fault finding, Experience in Electronics, Networks, Scadas Camera Systems, Fire Detection, Mechanical repairs, Welding and Civil experience would be advantageous.

B. Physical Demands and Work Environment.
Attend team safety toolbox briefing/ talk at the commencement of every shift and/ or specific/ unique task.
Ensure appropriate PPE is used and in good condition in order to perform specific tasks/ working conditions
Identify and report any SHE incident/ accidents immediately as per the SHE system.
Identify and report unsafe conditions that could lead to unsafe working conditions and/ or environment harm immediately

Monitor and identify work practices to ensure work is performed in accordance with relevant HSE working procedures/ work instructions
Monitor housekeeping and ensure HSE standards are maintained.
Performs tasks assigned in terms of the SHE system.
Ensures no cash, gifts, etc are accepted for personal favours.
C. Essential Duties and Responsibilities.
Assisting with Electrical, Mechanical and/or Electronic improvements as required;
Assist sub-contractors with the installation of new equipment according to specifications.
Compliance with legislative and SHEQ standards, including dealing with 11KVA systems.
Ensure all equipment is isolated and the relevant documentation is signed.
Identifies the need for upgrading of equipment in conjunction with production and management - formulates recommendations.
Implements upgrade in accordance with approved action plan and conforming to specifications.
Conducts daily routine inspections of equipment and verify routine maintenance by operators and Technicians.
Identifies and records problems identified and discusses serious breakdown risks with Technical Manager.
Identify items for planned replacement or correction.
Organize and plan after hour maintenance if required and/or as requested by Management.
Performs allocated tasks.
Performs tasks when problems are identified in all technical fields.
Records work performed on the job cards.
Respond to call
- outs and after hour breakdowns when on standby and/or as requested by Management.
Timeous and accurate filing of all required documents.
Uses list of scheduled inspections to conduct the required inspections and maintenance when due.
