JOB OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for maintaining and overseeing inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items; responsible for safeguarding the warehouse as well as supervising staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Receive all incoming stocks and materials into the Warehouse.
- Check stocks against the delivery notes
- Once stock is picked and taken to the packing area, ensure stock is packed according to the invoice and put on the tables allocated, for loading the vehicles the next day
- Process stock as per customer request and ensure all is in order for delivery
- Follow up on any queries relating to picking slips and collecting of orders
- Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries
- Track inventory levels and ensure replenishment
- Report any irregularities or problems to the Operations Manager
- Handle all materials in accordance with health & safety standards
- Participate in stock cycle counts and stock-taking as and when required in accordance with SOPs
- Ensure that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures
- Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the warehouse area
- Constantly work to improve processes
- Deliver efficiencies to support year on year operational budget reduction
- In conjunction with the Operations Manager, implement warehouse and management systems and working practices in line with best practice and continuous improvement
- Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operation whilst ensuring continuous customer service
- Occasional control of fork lift to ensure full operational capacity and achieve daily targets
- Oversee any planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment
- Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring 5S housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy
- Maintain the management of supplier return packaging
- Record and communicate all shortage issues to the relevant department
- Monitor stock levels in order to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages
- Ensure that facility equipment is properly maintained
- Responsible for driving Standard Work and ensuring quality processes are implemented to ensure a "Right First Time" product to the customer aligned with their expectation
- Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage
- Supervision of staff
- Communicate and collaborate with other team members
- Train, guide and evaluate new warehouse employees
- Perform ad-hoc duties as requested by management from time to time

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Matric is essential
- A Diploma in Logistics Management or equivalent will be advantageous
- Previous experience working as a Warehouse Supervisor/Team Leader is essential
- Experience in an FMCG environment is essential
- Proven experience in Warehouse planning, Stock Control, Dispatching and Receiving
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety practices and principles
- SAGE Evolution knowledge will be advantageous
- Excellent problem solving, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to communicate in Afrikaans will be advantageous
- Ability to cope well under pressure
- Flexibility to adapt quickly to changing business conditions and changing priorities
- Innovative and adaptable
- Highly organised and system orientated
- Willingness to work in a highly pressurised environment
