Maintenance Fitter - Midrand - Job-3647

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor/Manager
Job description / core competencies:
Provide workshop assistance and maintenance service to ensure safe and continuous operation of plant and equipment. Ensure safe and clean working environment. Thorough inspection and the repair of all equipment on the planned maintenance system. Troubleshooting and efficient repair of plant and equipment. Perform all tasks in a safe manner. Perform daily routine inspection and keep records there off. Report activities (time sheet, workshop requests, etc.) when needed. Correct use of PPE at all times. Any other maintenance related tasks as nominated by the supervisor. Report and record activities (time sheets, log sheets, shop orders, etc.) Report all unsafe acts and or conditions to the manager or supervisor. Operate within the scope of the company’s code of ethics.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
**Education**:
N3 Mechanical Engineering Qualified Mechanical Fitter with passed Trade Test

Recognised apprenticeship

**Experience**:
Maintenance workshop/manufacturing environment.

Minimum of 3 years post apprenticeship

Knowledge:
Plant safety and safety procedures.

Work with minimum supervision.

Responsive to emergencies.

Report and record information accurately.

Recognise and rectify unsafe conditions and actions.

Welding (stainless steel an advantage)

Basic pipe fitting

To perform all tasks as per SOP.

Good communication skills.

Personal qualities:
Self-motivated

Diligent

Time conscious (punctual)

Personal neatness and hygiene.
