**Project Leadership**:

- Take a leadership role in research projects, overseeing the design, execution, and analysis of experiments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and milestones are met.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior research staff, fostering a collaborative and productive research environment.

**Scientific Outputs**:

- Drive the development of scientific publications, including research articles, conference papers, and other relevant outputs.
- Contribute intellectually to the design and interpretation of experiments, ensuring the robustness and reliability of scientific findings.
- Stay abreast of advancements in the field, integrating new knowledge into ongoing research activities.

**Patient Recruitment and Informed Consent**:

- Oversee the recruitment process, working closely with study coordinators to identify and enrol eligible participants.
- Ensure informed consent procedures are implemented and ethical considerations are maintained throughout the trial.

**Clinical Oversight**:

- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to the research team, including investigators, study coordinators, and support staff.
- Monitor patient safety and trial conduct, promptly addressing any medical or ethical concerns that may arise during the trial.

**Collaboration and Networking**:

- Foster collaborations with external research institutions, industry partners, and other stakeholders to enhance research opportunities.
- Represent the organisation at conferences, workshops, and other scientific events to build a strong network within the research community.

**EDUCATION**

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB)

**EXPERIENCE**

TB and HIV clinical management

**REQUIREMENTS**
- A valid registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner.
- Experience in clinical/implementation research.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Training in epidemiology and biostatistics
- Project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to write scientific papers.
- Willingness to travel 40% time.
- SA Citizen or valid work permit to work in South Africa
- Valid Driver’s License
- Own car
- Willing to work overtime.
