The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and increasing productivity with innovative and efficient methods. Monitoring employees and organising workflows.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Planning

1. Prepare a complete production plan weekly in advance, present and discuss with Management.

2. Organise, monitor and control staff, shift allocations and overtime.

3. Manage overtime request processes.

4. Optimise capacity planning and processes.

5. Manage staff requirements and direct the production team.

6. Maintain flexibility by managing the different projects and ensure their timeous delivery.

7. Act proactively by identifying, solving and/or reporting unforeseen challenges.

8. Drive process optimization and cost saving initiatives.

9. Liaise with Top Management to maintain a 2-week planning period on all projects.

10. Monitor status of trailers both on order and in reserve.
- Production

1. Oversee the production process ensuring that the production is accurate, on time and cost effective.

2. Maintain production targets by ensuring that the required products are delivered daily.

3. Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organisations mission specifically support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organisational planning.

4. Effectively manage all product production processes from initial assembly preparation to final fitment.

5. Upgrade and maintain the High-Speed Schedules on a daily base.

6. Monitor, control and ensure completion of all daily tasks within the department.
- Administration and Safety

1. Manage and report on safety, production, quality, budgets, manpower and industrial relations.

2. Create and ensure safe working conditions at all times.

3. Maintain discipline and adherence to company policies

4. Co-ordinate of different projects flexibly, efficiently and effectively.

5. Manage, monitor and control the sign-off schedule.

6. Attend to and sign off all clock cards and process to payroll weekly.

7. Ensure general neatness and organisation of the department.

8. Manage and address discipline and general work performance of employees within the department.

9. Manage and monitor tools within the department in liaison with the OHS Manager.

10. Responsible and accountable for all OHS matters within the department.

11. Manage performance, training and development of staff.
- Collaboration

1. Establish, enhance and maintain effective communication with 2IC’s, Quality Control/Assurance, Logistics and other functional areas.

2. Render advice and guidance to the logistics function to endure effective and efficient supply of materials.

3. Ensure personal and proper signing off of trailers before final signing by Quality Control.

4. Manage the department store and all materials involved.

5. Re-engineer logístical process including provision and control of materials.

6. Log challenges on the Engineering Department reporting system and follow up.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
- Grade 12
- Tertiary qualification: National Diploma or B.Tech - Production or Industrial Engineering (beneficial)
- Driver’s License
- Extensive knowledge of production planning functions.
- Well-rounded understanding of the custom manufacturing space with previous hands-on leadership experience in a manufacturing role.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes/engineering.
- Understand manufacturing equipment needs and capacities.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or engineering industries.
