Assistant Accountant, 11 Month Contract, East London

**We are seeking an Assistant Accountant for an 11-month contract role based in East London, Eastern Cape.**

**Applicants are required to meet the following criteria**:

- ND or equivalent in Accounting / Finance
- 3+ years working experience of which at least 2 years must be in finance (GL and management accounting)
- Working experience in debtors / creditors function advantageous

**The** successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to**:

- Monthly management accounts - maintain cashbook, creditors and debtors; prepare / process journals; bank reconciliations; petty cash; creditors reconciliations
- Revenue management - review/authorize banking; enforce debt collection; raise invoices; liaise with banks and clients regarding forex
- Expenditure management - scrutinize payment requisitions; ensure strict compliance
- Financial reporting - GL reconciliations; respond to audit enquiries; monthly, quarterly and yearly closing procedures
- Systematically file all financial records

**Salary: R25 000 per month for the contract duration**
