Accounts Payable Controller

The role of an Accounts Payable Controller is to complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices. In addition, maintaining accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loading payments onto the banking systems for release.
Processing cash claims
Creating payment runs for the payment of supplier invoices and staff expenses.
Validating, approving and posting invoices and credit notes.
Reconciling Creditors accounts and resolving queries.
Request for invoices, proof of deliveries, and supporting documents for all unprocessed documents from suppliers.
Paying Creditors on time and according to payment terms.
Receiving and verify invoices and all relevant documentation to process payments.
Maintaining the Purchase Ledgers of the Group operating entities, including liaising with department heads, expediting outstanding expense authorisation, posting invoices and staff expense forms.
Performing the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions according to the relevant accounting system for payment authorisation.
Maintaining an current and accurate filing system for the creditors function.
Prioritising and redirecting queries where necessary.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
A National Diploma /BTech /BComm or similar qualification in Accounting or Finance.
5 years' functional work experience in an Accounts Payable role.
Online banking and Foreign currency payments experience.
Experience working on various Accounting systems.
Analytical with a strong problem solving ability and high aptitude for numeracy.
Exceptional organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with internal and external business partners.
A strong sense of transparency, ethics and integrity.
Logical with solid planning and time management skills to ensure efficient execution of tasks.
Strong data management and multitasking ability to manage high volumes of work in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to withstand pressure and meet deadlines within a specified timeframe.
Ability to work independently as well as within multiple teams to drive tasks to completion.
