The Head of Cyber Operations is a senior role within the IT SRG function, which is dedicated to the effective running and management of the cyber operations department. The role reports to the IT SRG Director, who in turn reports to the Group CIO. The role is strategic in nature and is required to interface with and manage strategic third party vendors, outsourced partners as well as contractors in this space. The effective visibility, reporting and monitoring of the cyber operations environment is critical to the success of this capability.

**What will you do?**
- Build and maintain effective relationships with the business and key corporate functional and IT stakeholders to ensure enterprise-wide coverage across cyber operations activities
- Create the Cyber operations strategy, the related plan (aligned to the strategy), related schedule and ensure that the plan is successfully executed upon
- Demonstrate in-depth workings around operating with Defense teams across organisations
- Have the ability to think creatively and articulate innovative ideas to solving complex business and IT problems
- Proven track record of assessing governance procedures for large projects and recommending / implementing required improvements
- Proven track record of working with stakeholders to identify requirements, generating programme roadmaps and implementation plans for large-scale complex projects
- Extensive understanding of defensive cyber capabilities and the interactions between them to enable a proactive cyber posture
- Lead and manage the cyber security operations function by ensuring:

- Effective responses and remediations are in place around cyber incidents across all functions of the business
- Ensure incident identification, assessment, quantification, reporting, communication, mitigation and monitoring by:

- Driving effective use of current monitoring and detective capabilities
- Ensuring that the correct processes are in place for incident response and that incidents are well documented and defined
- Ensuring that processes are tested on a continuous basis via 3rdparty and independent reviews
- Responsible for team and vendor management, overall use of resources and initiation of corrective action where required for a cyber security operations function
- Effective team management to perform threat management, threat modelling, identify threat actors and develop use cases for security monitoring
- Creation of reports, dashboards, metrics for SOC operations and presentations to Senior Management

**Key attributes and competencies**
- Strong understanding of the driving / leading cyber operations environments across large environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong report writing, positioning capabilities and negotiation skills
- Ability to convey a technical solution to senior management in a clear and concise manner
- Strategic thinker with proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
- A team player who is hardworking and self-motivated
- Ability to effectively plan and prioritize workloads, and to measure and report on current progress
- Ability to effectively manage technical contractors as well as outsource partners in ensuring effective delivery and performance

**Experience**
- 8+ years experience in cyber operations management
- Business / IT / Management Degree
- S+; CISSP; CISM; Security Courses; ISO 27001/2; CEH qualifications are preferred

- Dashboards of cyber operations KPI’s
- Timeous escalations to relevant stakeholders
- Being fully accessible on a 24x7 basis Sunday to Sunday
