**Role and Responsibilities**
- Installing, maintaining and repairing ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment.
- Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
- Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
- Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.
- Performing repairs where possible whether it may be of electrical or any other nature.
- To implement preventative maintenance when necessary.
- Work on large projects that may mean the complete installation of an entire new system and ensuring that work is done in accordance to set standards.
- If the project so requires: the complete stripping of existing HVAC systems and installation of new units both indoor and outdoor.
- Installation and maintenance of supporting systems such as ducting, extraction systems.
- Work on Chiller systems and BMS systems.
- Listing equipment and consumables needed for quotations to be done.
- Responsible for company vehicle, mobile phone as well as all equipment that is issued.
- Performing repairs form a considerate part of our work as these calls are logged daily though our help desk for both existing and new clients.
- Correct assessment and action on preventative maintenance will prevent future inconvenience and discomfort to our clients, thus building a good relationship and strengthening our reputation as leaders in our industry.
- Part of any HVAC system requires the proper attention to the supporting systems for example ducting, extraction, fresh air, and where relevant chiller and BMS systems.
- Listing equipment and consumables that will be required to quote accurately.
- From time to time it is necessary to attend site meetings for updates on work in progress or for site hand overs.
- Construction work might be needed in order to either clear the way to start on a new installation or with completion.
- All technicians are entrusted with company property, and the proper maintenance of all whether it may be a vehicle, mobile phone or equipment is key to ensure unnecessary delays or damage to said property.
- All technicians are issued with a company credit and petrol card, these are entrusted in good faith.
- Basic safety regulations must be followed and are of utmost importance to ensure safety of all at any given time.

**Skills and Requirements**
- High school diploma.
- 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician.
- Valid driver’s license (Code 10 or EB)
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
- Working knowledge of boiler systems.
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and public holidays when required and with short notice.

Ability to work in confined spaces.

License/Certification:

- Drivers license (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (preferred)
