**_ Position Purpose:_**

To design and implement strategic occupational health and wellness programmes, processes and systems to minimise,

prevent and manage the risk posed by the health of employees to the business of TFR.

**_ Position outputs:_**

1.Design and implement a health management system including strategies, plans, guidelines and procedures aimed at the

prevention and management of sick-absence, ill health, occupational diseases and injuries in the workplace.

2.Promote the development of a health and safety culture within the organization with the primary focus on reduction of

sick-absence, prevention of injuries and occupational diseases.

3.Develop standards, procedures and specifications for occupational health and wellness related facilities and equipment as

well as healthcare operating processes in compliance to relevant legislation and regulations.

4.Develop and implement a contractor management framework to ensure legal compliance and monitoring of service

providers.

5.Partner with management to drive and sustain change, based on best practices, that serve the best interest of TFR in

specialized areas related to the management of employee health and wellness in the workplace.

6.Ensure comprehensive and effective communication on occupational health and wellness related issues.

7.Research and champion workplace occupational health and wellness industry best practices and implement changes and

/or adjustments to ensure compliance and effectiveness of health and wellness programmes.

8.Continuously monitor, evaluate and audit corporate compliance against pre-determined health and wellness programme

success indicators, company expectations and legislative requirements.

9.Develop and implement business practices to enable enhancement of work attendance, productivity and mitigation and

management of health risks, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

10.Oversee the production of reliable corporate reports and ensure the integrity of data, specific to the health and wellness

function.

11.Ensure confidentiality of information.

12.Develop organizational capability by attracting and retaining professional health and wellness experts with appropriate

skills and competencies to meet company objectives.

13.Investigate and manage occupational diseases to determine their root causes and implement mitigation measures.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- Recognised Medical Degree
- Specialist Occupational Health Practitioner
- Registration with HPCSA
- 8-10 years experience in the Health and Wellness environment within a large organisation, with at least 5 years at

Management level.
- Requirement of Trust and Honesty in the handling of Finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19
- Must undergo lifestyle audit
- Standard Job Requirements- Driver’s license code 08
- Travel as required and approved
