The incumbent is responsible for fulfilling the basic fault finding and problem-solving on medical equipment under the general control of the Clinical Engineer as well as coordinating medical equipment functions and documentation.

Leadership:
Ability to influence and engage with doctors and employees with regards to the use of medical equipment to ensure compliance and that the equipment remains in good working order. Assisting with the implementation of new technology in the hospital.

Service delivery:
Maintaining the asset register.

Coordinating the equipment storeroom, ensuring accurate levels of stock.

Coordinating the movement of equipment to and from the department. Maintaining internal departmental history files on life-support equipment.

Assisting with the general and preventative maintenance of the hospital equipment, including the servicing of equipment, testing equipment, fault finding of equipment and ensuring that all the relevant supporting documentation is in order.

Environment and facilities:
Ensure employees use, maintain and store equipment appropriately and training the team where necessary.

Employee management:
Continuous interaction with suppliers and attendance of technology updates and assisting with the training of relevant employees on new equipment and arranging such training.

Financial and resource management:
Assisting the clinical engineer in maintaining the stock register with items per category with the stock count, last unit purchase price and supplier details by capturing purchased and used equipment and stock on the system. Ensuring access control to prevent stock or supply loss.

Quality & legal compliance:
Performing rounds in the customer care areas and informing the Clinical engineer of potential risks and assisting with corrective action. Undertaking audit requirements on time to ensure compliance with statutory legislation requirements and external standards.

**Qualification**

Diploma in Clinical Engineering

**Experience**

**Experience in a private hospital is a necessity.**
