- **Job summary**:
As the Bursar (Financial Manager) at our school, you will oversee and direct all financial activities, ensuring strategic management of funds, compliance with financial regulations, and support of the school’s mission. Your role will involve leadership within the School Management Team, effective communication with external stakeholders, and guiding financial decisions under the principal's direction.
- **Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to financial strategy and policy development as a key member of the School Management Team.
- Manage all aspects of financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
- Liaise with bankers, auditors, and government agencies to ensure financial compliance and optimization.
- Serve on the school governing body to aid in strategic planning and governance decisions.
- Prepare and present annual budgets and financial forecasts to the Principal and School Governing Body.
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular, detailed financial reports.
- Oversee payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Manage human resources administrative functions, including contracts, payroll, and personnel records.
- **Qualifications, experience & professional attributes**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of financial management experience, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
- Proficient in using financial software, including SagePay (Netcash) and Xero.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Strong leadership skills, advanced financial and analytical capabilities, and excellent organisational skills.
