**Job Purpose**

To manage the funds and provide an enabling environment (incl infrastructure) for technology innovation and assist with implementation of initiatives to stimulate a culture of innovation and provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs/organisations to receive funding and technical support by creating an effective ecosystem for programmes.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**Qualification and Experience**
- **Minimun Required Qualifications**: Four (4) year Degree in Engineering/ Science and Technology.
- Post Graduate qualification e.g., Project management, Finance or Economics will be an added advantage.
- **Minimum Required Experience**: 3 - 4 years’ experience in Fund Management, Technology Development & Commercialisation, Project Management, Portfolio Management and/or Programme Management.

**Financial Perspective**
- Assist with the development of the budgets and forecasts for Committees' approval
- Monitor and evaluate activities to ensure the allocated operational and other funding (Major equipment, etc) budgets are spent according to the operational plan or business plan to ensure optimal operations.
- Manage and monitor the timeous disbursement of funding to ensure optimal operation of projects
- Leverage innovative approaches, resources, and collaborative efforts to enhance fund impact
- Identify and facilitate receipt of additional funding sources for the where required from new and existing funding sources. New funding opportunities are identified and leveraged for project sustainability

**Stakeholder Management**
- Create awareness of the unit’s offerings and service with potential customers
- Engage effectively with stakeholders and clients
- Effective reporting to internal and external stakeholders (DSI and others)
- Maintain an up to date stakeholder mapping and log of key stakeholder initiatives
- Ensure credible success stories are published in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Relations business unit
- Participate in events, meetings, workshops and conferences by giving input, avail skill, competency and expertise. Participation should result positive input, impact and giving direction in the NSI
- Encourage cross-industry collaboration, cooperation and communication with relevant stakeholders in building the TSs ecosystem.
- Engage in strategic market orientated efforts to introduce TSs into the marketplace such as, Biotechnology, 4IR and other prioritized sectors
- Showcase a database of products and services enabled trough TSs
- Demonstrations to entities involved in people leaving with disabilities forums and associations
- Presentations at exhibition to encourage enterprise and consumer awareness.

**Internal Processes**
- Compliance with all TIA systems (performance management, HR, finance, Stakeholder information, fund management, reporting etc.)
- Adherence to all relevant policies and frameworks
- Review Technology Stations business plans and budgets by detecting over and underspend and implement corrective risk management measures
- Ensure standard operating procedure is followed; ie
- Review operational/ business plan in conjunction with external Stakeholder to ensure completeness,
- Obtain EXCO approval,
- Communicate outcome,
- Contract into agreements with successful applicants
- Monitor progress against annual targets
- Review quarterly progress and disbursements
- Actively engage with Stakeholders to ensure proper exiting takes place
- Assess, analyse and integrate information prior to capturing into the relevant system
- Streamline processes and procedures to maximize efficiency
- Stay abreast of related trends in market
- Support the Head in developing and implementing all relevant procedures and frameworks and ensure timeous and accurate reporting as per requirements
- Create an ecosystem within defined stakeholders where TS can collaborate, develop, test and trial products and services for enterprises.
- Provide system-wide management support for TS to effectively support SMMEs
- Promote industry participation in the TSs activities to ease technology transfer
- Develop and launch of regular TSs challenges and competitions to promote the development of innovative products, process and services to support government service delivery.
