KGA is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a SHE Specialist.
**Core Purpose**
KGA is currently recruiting for a SHE Specialist with extensive experience in Safety, Health and the Environment in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals sector to provide support to our client in development and execution (including construction) of Capital Projects. The SHE Specialist will be primarily accountable to maintain, monitor, investigate and report any SHE related deliverables throughout the various stages of the project. S/He will be responsible to advise project team and update any SHE related Legal requirements and client specific processes to meet the standard per the Petrochemical sector. The SHE specialist maintains the ISO standards to achieve compliance and ensures any deviations are addressed as per audit findings.
Key Performance Areas
- Maintain health, safety and environmental systems; implement and audit to achieve compliance with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
- Provide leadership to support the management and compliance with HSE standards
- Manages and leads Health, Safety and Environment Assurance teams and Corporate initiatives.
- Coordinates the delivery of HSE products and services to operations personnel, in support of execution.
- Interfaces with regulatory bodies, clients and subcontractors.
- Incorporates health standards directed by regulatory agencies to prevent hazards and diseases from work sites.
- Under general direction, is accountable for the performance and results of the SHE discipline and sub-group within a function.
- Participates in the development of a functional strategy for the Company.
- Excellent and topical knowledge of Intergrated Management Systems.
- A “hands-on” implementer of processes and a strong driver of the “Management of change” process
- Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
- Manage the lessons learned process within the Company.
- Management review of QMS and presentation to the Management Review Team
- Drives the Safety Risk and Incident Management processes
- Develop and implement Audit schedule
- Conducts Incident investigations and liaising with DOL, COID, SAPS and clients/stakeholders
- Makes recommendations for corrective action. Maintain HSE deviation/incidents/non-conformances registers
- Closing all Non-Conformances and Work Process Improvements.
- This position carries Legal Appointment Responsibilities
**JOB REQUIREMENTS**
Qualifications:
- Health/Safety/Environmental Management Diploma or Engineering Diploma with Health and Safety/Environmental Management
- SACPCMP Registration as a Construction Health Safety Manager (high wish)
- Total Quality Management/Safety Management/Environmental Management and knowledge and implementation of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015, SAIW 3834-2,
- Construction Regulations 2014
- NEBOSH
- NOSA- Samtrac (minimum)
**Experience**:
- Minimum of 10 years in SHE department in Petrochemical Environment, of which 5 years in Capital Projects
- Interfacing and working in Sasol Secunda/Sasolburg for minimum 3 years
- Thorough knowledge of Legal Appointment responsibilities and maintaining of such register
- In-depth Incident investigations and reporting knowledge and closing of Non-conformances.
- Strong knowledge (including development and maintenance) of ISO standards (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015)
- ISO 3834 - Part 2 Certification knowledge from SHE perspective
