PLUS ONE MEDICAL IS CURRENTLY REQRUITING FOR A NURSING SERVICES MANAGER FOR A SMALL FRAILCARE FACILITY IN WYNBERG WESTERN CAPE.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Minimum requirements:

- A registered Professional Nurse and registered with the South African Council
- Proven management experience of three years within a frail care centre
- Ten years of geriatric nursing experience
- Nursing experience relating to Alzheimer's and dementia would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of palliative care in particular cancer care will be an advantage..
- Business acumen, budgeting, managing expenses, cost containment, and revenue-generating skills are critical.
- Patient focus is imperative.
- Must be in possession of a valid driver's license and own transport.
- Skilled in MS Office - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- First Aid Training would be advantageous.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the employees especially care workers.
- Must be able to work under pressurized conditions due to the nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities:

- To ensure that all residents are receiving holistic care in respect of their physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being.
- Responsible for administration - scope and standard of best practise
- assessing patients and staff, and identifying issues, problems, and trends, identifying outcomes, developing a plan to reach desired outcomes and implementing the plan. Discuss and develop training modules for the carers - keep records of the patients up to date.
- Maintaining and being abreast with all nursing policies and procedures for the highest quality assurance
- Reputation management.
- Management of nursing staff's absenteeism and timekeeping.
- Together with the council/Plus One Medical develop an incentive scheme to motivate all staff to achieve and maintain an excellent standard of care and positive spirit.
- The Registered Nurse will manage the duties of the Enrolled Nurse and 12 care workers - 6 per shift.
- Communicate with the facility doctor on a continuous basis to discuss any changes in the care of the residents.
- Communicate with pharmacies and other suppliers to order medications and negotiate prices.
