- The HSE Manager need to lead the SHEQ Team in providing a totally integrated SHEQ function to the site and to influence Site Management to embed a culture of SHEQ excellence

**Accountabilities**

**Position Accountabilities**:

- Promote SHEQ awareness with respect to local law regulations and Group Standards and requirements
- Improve the SHEQ Performance and continuously update and ensure adherence to all SHEQ policies
- Attend Project review meetings Receive file request and compile files

**Role Accountabilities**:

- SHEQ Manager will play a key role in developing and rising up a positive safety culture among organization
- SHEQ Manager will play a key role developing and delivering a strategic SHE RoadMap through people engagement, technology and the Lean processes to deliver effective and dynamic leadership of the SHEQ agenda

**Responsibilities**

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Developing effective SHEQ risk management and driving continuous improvement towards Zero Harm working environment.
- Executing the group and business SHEQ strategy and driving commitment to Responsible Care principles
- Providing assurance on SHEQ compliance
- Influencing business leadership on SHEQ matters
- Developing and planning SHEQ risk assessments
- Monitoring and improving effectiveness of SHEQ controls
- Providing assurance on SHEQ workplace and legal compliance.
- Conducting SHEQ incident investigations, root cause analysis and facilitation of learning
- Ensuring certification and effectiveness of SHEQ management systems (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001 ISO 9001, PSM and Responsible Care).
- Monitoring and reporting on SHEQ performance
- Planning and monitoring SHEQ training
- Managing the SHEQ team’s performance and budget

**Role responsibilities**:

- Identify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc
- Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox
- Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
- Identify SHEQ requirements and determine the impact they may have on the site
- Monitor SHEQ behaviour in line with expectations
- Develop learning interventions to support implementation of SHEQ Management System requirements and facilitate Safety training courses
- Conduct internal SHEQ Audits and monitor and report closure on Audit findings
- Report on the Performance of Site SHEQ Management Systems and make recommendations on findings
- Investigate Significant Incidents
- Facilitate the identification and assessment of SHEQ Risks and update the risk register
- Report SHEQ statistics and information
- Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence**Inherent Requirements**

**Qualifications**
- Diploma Safety Management essential
- At least 5 years’ experience in Safety Management

**Requirements / Skills / Characteristics**
- Knowledge of work-related hazards and associated risks understanding of human behavior and the impact of cultural differences on human behavior
- Knowledge of plant processes standards and procedures (including HR policies) knowledge of relevant safety legislation, i.e. Mine Health and Safety Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and COID Act
- International Standards (ISO), i.e. OHSAS45001, ISO9001, ISO14001
- Computer literacy and presentation skills
- Facilitation, report writing and auditing skills
- How to conduct a root cause / fault tree analysis (investigation skills)
- Verbal and written communication skills (internal and external)
