**Main Purpose of Role**

To manage and achieve the required daily, weekly and monthly targets with regard to unpaid debits/debt owed to the company.

Ensuring the accurate and timely invoicing of customers.

Setting individual payment collection goals and targets for yourself.

Creating and implementing a strategy to improve the collection of outstanding credit.

Responsibilities include developing payment plans, locating debtors in order to begin the recovery process, and negotiating debt repayments.

Liaise & monitor collection progress rate with manager & finance team regularly.

Servicing clients whilst in the process of collections (documents, updates, etc).

**Skills required**

1. Technical - basic computer skills (MS Office).

2. Time management - follow up with clients regularly.

3.People Management skills.

4. Behavioural - Target driven, Self-driven, leadership skills, Positive and energetic, good communication skills.

5. Structured and detail orientated, Able to multi-task, Relationship building.

6. Proactive - capable of identifying and initiating change, Responsive, Focus on implementation and delivery.

7. Able to work under pressure, Able to work in a team, Attention to detail.

8. Negotiation and conflict resolution skills - securing collections with clients.

**Key Performance Areas**

**Management of Collections process**

1. Monitor and drive collections within the business.

2. Contact clients with overdue payments and either collect the overdue amount or arrange a payment plan

to recover the unpaid amount.

3. Documenting daily collections activities, keep accurate records and reporting on collection activities.

4. Divide collection targets into Fails, Disputes and Stopped contracts.

5. Enquire with customers & keep a record of the reasons for failed debits.

7. Collecting the maximum amount of overdue funds.

8. Ensuring that all channels meet their collections targets.

9. Prioritizing first failed debits.

10. Re-authenticate first debits that “fall on a weekend” to reduce disputes.

11. Confirm pay dates with employers that are created on system.

12. Familiarize self with different pay dates within our economic sectors - pay date management.

13. Handle cancellations and suspensions when required - Collect on clients whose contracts is in suspended state due to non-collection.

14. Keep records of the amount owed and the length of the non-payment.

15. Record & advise Manager & finance of any reduced instalments.

16. Record & advise Manager & finance of any arrangements outside of client’s initial agreement.

17. Contact client with disputed instalments to find out reasons for disputing instalments, check if agreements have been signed for these clients, and mandates have been signed and uploaded.

18. Check history of contracts to recreate for clients whose accounts are: Frozen accounts, Dormant accounts, Account in sequestrations, Account holder deceased, Accounts not in use for 3 months or more. etc

19. Ensure targets are met.

20. Ensure that you are at work every day.

21. Ad hoc duties.
