Research, analyze and formulate information for production reports and daily planning
- Schedule, arrange, and manage daily supervisor meetings to communicate issues and resolve challenges
- Follow start-up and shut-down procedures at the start and end of each day
- Responsible for WIP reports and scheduling and ensuring continual throughput
- Maintain and follow workday schedule and plan appropriate head coverage to ensure uninterrupted production
- Consult and work with all team members to maximize production output and minimize downtime
- Responsible for the production process and ensuring support where necessary
- Review and log and report downtimes, communicate effect on output to planning and HOD
- Tracking of units, adhering to production lead times and maintaining quality specifications
- Scheduling staff working hours to ensure best use and
- facilitating maximum yield from machines
- Promote productivity, motivate and manage people, excellent communication and leadership skills
- Drive output with supervisors and address any issues that arise
- Reporting in meetings and provide explanations for deviations Manage and monitor maintenance plan
- Manage safety and housekeeping procedures according to weekly plan and signed off
- Report breakdowns, failures to maintenance and drive resolution and repairs
- Excellent computer skills, reporting and monitoring progress against KPIs
- Training, coaching and mentoring department personal and ensure development through multi-skilling so that the required expertise and skills are available to meet output targets
- Manage department staff including leave and absenteeism, disciplinary process and IR issues
- Resource planning in consultation with supervisors
- and investigation and resolution of performance issues
- Enforce, monitor and manage company quality standards and ensure teams are working to BIQ and always conducting self-checks as well as root-cause analysis and troubleshooting when required
- Manage NCR process and resolution and report thereon
- Responsible for department safety equipment (PPE)
- Manage department staff training programs
- Documentation management, reports, production documents, traceability, etc
- Conduct regular house-keeping, safety, and quality audits and adhere to 5S principles
- Ensure all drawings and work instructions are always updated and clearly visible to operators.
- Enforce, institute and monitor material costs & waste controls
- Control and reduce scrap generation, identify areas of waste, suggest areas of Improvement
- Ensure availability of materials, tools and equipment and monitor stocks and storage
- Participate in projects as and when required and ensure effective communication and reporting of project progress against timing plans to affected staff and management
