**Key responsibilities**:

- Carrying out building inspections & audits.
- Carrying out a preventative, planned maintenance program and undertaking routine inspections of the premises, fixtures, fittings, utility meters, and grounds.
- Co-ordinate/carry out repairs, maintenance, improvement works and inspections to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises.
- Obtain any technical supplies required by the Facilities Department

**Minimum academic requirements and experience**:

- Matric certificate (A N1-N3 Electrical Engineering certificate or any other related qualification will be an added advantage)
- Ability to act independently.
- Understanding technical building regulations and adherence to such requirements.
- Technical Knowledge and Experience: A strong understanding of the equipment, systems, and facilities relevant to the building infrastructure is essential.
- Additional demonstratable knowledge and of maintenance skills relevant to other fields such as plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical systems will be advantageous.

**Knowledge, Skills and Attitude**:

- Technical Knowledge: includes knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical components, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other relevant areas.
- Safety Regulations: should have knowledge of relevant codes and standards to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment.
- Problem-solving and Troubleshooting: they should be able to identify the root cause of a problem and develop appropriate solutions.
- Time Management: the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure and should be able to handle multiple maintenance requests and ensure timely completion of work.
- Proactiveness: Regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and proactive repairs can help minimize downtime and prevent major breakdowns.
