**_ Position Purpose:_**

Provides leadership, direction and strategy for all technical matters in the Region.

**_ Position outputs:_**

Assist in developing Facilities Management strategies for the region aligned with the National strategy ,clients strategies

ensuring:
compliance with relevant legislation regarding plant equipment

utility consumption within all buildings are optimized

plant equipment and building systems in the region meet the required efficiencies, standards, parameters and legislation for

effective operations

Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan implementation and

mitigating where there are any potential risks and gaps

Manage all components of facility management throughout the portfolio

Provides reports on the status/life-cycle of assets across the portfolio

In liaison with engineers, co-ordinates activities and processes regarding the installation of all plant, equipment and building

systems in the building and oversee and monitor the preventative maintenance plans of all buildings

In liaison with engineers ,to perform trends and analysis of the performance of all plant equipment and systems and provide

specialist advise in respect of same

Builds and maintains stakeholder relations to attract new and retain existing business

To manage performance of direct reports and give input into management of technical staff, ensuring:
job profiles are regularly updated and accurately reflects the role

performance contracts are discussed and agreed

regular one on one's are held with staff to discuss progress of individual areas of accountability

formal performance reviews are held at least bi
- annually

measures are used to take appropriate remedial action

Project Management:
Assist the region through by identifying deficiencies and non-performing equipment or buildings.

Provide input into the execution of all projects

End user for all capital and opex initiatives as carry out by the national office. Assist to oversee the co-ordination of the

Capex projects that arise from the need to replace plant, equipment and building systems across the portfolio

To manage the Facilities Management budget including the following:
Budget preparation

Monthly Variance reporting

Forecasting

Day-to-day preventative maintenance plan

Providing input into 5 year CAPEX plan for decision making and relating to Technical, Operational and Civil Services matters

To act as the custodian of technical services standards, policies, procedures and service level agreements and ensure that

they are regularly updated. This includes ensuring that precinct management and staff:
are trained

provide input into the drafting of the standards

Comply with the standards by undertaking regular audits.

Ensure that all building related information is maintained and kept up-to-date

Assist in managing electrical capex, electrical tenant installations, maintenance and abnormal projects in conjunction with

PMO

To manage electrical & utilities related contracts and service level agreements together with Engineering & Project Office

through the following interventions:
Scope of work is set

Specifications are drafted

Proper tender process is followed.

Timeous appointment of contractors according to procedural requirements.

Performance evaluations on contractors are carried out.

To manage tenant operational issues including:
ensuring that the terms of the lease agreement are adhered to by all tenants

that building standards are applied in the interest of customer service

ensuring that technical staff adhere to a 24-hour turnaround policy

To coordinate and oversee all matters pertaining to tenants installations in the team inclusive of:
Approval of plans in line with technical services standards

Ensure that installations are on track in terms of specifications and timing

Ensure that the requirements of the local authorities are adhered to

Ensure minimised costs as a result of delayed tenant installations
