**_ Position Purpose:_**

To provide professional and credible advice and effective insurance functionalities within Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) by

providing direction, management and leadership to all relevant stakeholders in TPT, Managing the suite of insurance

products (Assets All Risks, SASRIA, and other Insurance Portfolios) and manage insurance and claims brought against TPT.

This will also include the active reduction, prevention and elimination of risk and liability exposure, settle and repudiate claims

against the terminals and develop standard terms which control liability.

**_ Position outputs:_**

1. Manage and coordinate the national claims and insurance portfolio, litigation, mediation and arbitration matter as cost

effective as possible through the administration of Common Law principles in the best interest of TPT.

2. Embedding the insurance and claims SOP across the region as well as the conditions of trade and benefits of the various

claims and insurance portfolios

3 - Insurance Renewal - Facilitation of the annual insurance renewal process to ensure that TPT is adequately insured.

Expedite the compilation of renewal questionnaire and all other relevant information required by Group/brokers to renew the

various portfolios. Ensure that the renewal questionnaire reflects all Assets, other risk exposures and risk mitigation actions.

4 - Insurance Claims and Third-Party Recoveries Management and Administration
- Implementation of appropriate insurance related Policies, Procedures, Processes, Standards and Guidelines (PPPSG).

5 - Facilitation of timeous and effective claims management on all insurance policies. Ensure effective management of all

recoveries against third-party claims in order to limit potential exposure to risk in these matters. Proactively review current

insurance and claims handling procedures in light of key stakeholders’ requirements and changing circumstances
6 - Manage the Aggregate report and ensure that all Assets claims are reported and finalized within the prescribed

timeframes.

7 - Maintain a well-kept, updated Assets All Risk, Third-party & Recoveries, Liabilities and PCI database.

8 - Facilitation and coordination of the insurance survey process in collaboration with Corridors, monitor and track the
implementation of the recommendations from the insurer.

9 - Provide monthly status progress report to Group and other relevant stakeholders

10 - Conduct training to ensure improved awareness to all stakeholders regarding the various insurance policies through

facilitation of workshops and presentations.

11 - Build, maintain and develop effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Ensure that all insurance

related information and claims documentation is available on the SharePoint and or other mandatory electronic platforms.

12 - Review and provide inputs to contracts with customers and suppliers to ensure that the risk is appropriately transferred

13 - Serve as a liaison officer between Head Office, Terminal claims and insurance teams, Group Insurance and Brokers.

14 - Manage departmental budget and support financial optimization initiatives.

15 - Submitting monthly schedules and statistics to the insurers and brokers

16 - Verification and follow up on the Group Payments of group insurance premiums
17 - Liaising with attorneys on matters requiring litigation and manage internal liaisons

18 - Compiling complex claims documentation for review with insurers and loss adjusters

19 - Investigations into the claims, costing, evaluation, and subsequent settlement of claims with input/approval from the

relevant terminal, department, management and all other appropriate stakeholders

20 - Facilitation of regional claims committee meetings and terms of reference, scheduling dates, facilitating minutes and
coordinating meeting packs where required
