**The opportunity**:
We are currently seeking highly motivated **Superintendent Operational Excellence & Technology - Processing **who will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the organisations’ operational and technological excellence strategy. The role will undertake the implementation activities necessary to deliver the strategic business plan for technology investment in the copper sector at asset level. The role holder will actively engage with sites to ensure operational excellence initiatives are planned, executed, tracked and reported. The role will also provide support to the Technology Transformation business function in deploying studies relating to specific asset-level technology initiative activities.

**About the Role / Key Responsibilities**
- Support the development and leadership of the Center of Excellence ( CoE ) being implemented on-site to build OE capabilities and reinforce the culture of continuous improvement across all functional departments at the asset (Processing) level.
- Engagement with the site for the progression of operational excellence initiatives.
- Support the development of African technological initiatives, from concept to feasibility studies.
- Engagement with regional OE&T managers as well as consultancies for the execution of initiatives (improving portfolio execution at operational level).
- Analyze initiatives to ensure target KPIs are achieved and maintained.
- Coordination with departments and asset level stakeholders on the execution of project tasks.
- Prepare reports on project activities, including tracking schedule and costs.
- Support operational excellence and regional technology in the development of asset technology roadmaps.
- Coach line managers and department supervisors in managing and improving process stability.
- Lead an improvement pipeline to improve operational capacity on site by working with Management.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- University degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mineral Resource Management or a similar field plus a Qualification in Management or Leadership
- Must have a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- At least of at least (7) years within a concentration plant and/or in hydrometallurgical operations.
- At least 5 years' experience in Lean Management, Business Improvement, and Strategy Development Deployment.
- Advanced computer skills (advanced Excel, Word, Power point),
- Must have Leadership skills
- Experience in managing and leading a department
- Demonstrated experience in operations in the mining/processing industry
- Experience or background in continuous improvement or change programs
- Experience in financial evaluations (desirable)
