Machine Operator

About the Role

We are looking for a Machine Operator to embrace this dynamic opportunity and join our Operations team based at our Pinetown manufacturing site. The overall objective of the position is to be able to operate/spool at the spreading tunnels in the EAB plant.

You will directly report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for the smooth running of the spreading tunnel and adhering to the EAB processes. The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s safety standards and quality requirements are maintained according to the designated area’s requirements.

What You Will Do- Ensure that machine safety interlocks are always operational and the machine is running according to the required product being processed.- Maintain good housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices conditions in EAB.- Complete the daily worksheet and record all cloth being used and bandages spooled.- Perform in-process quality checks to ensure that the product meets the minimum required quality standards.- Operate according to the Work instructions and OPL’s of the spreading tunnels.- Spool, pack, label and batch the product as required for each crate.- Always monitor the machine and do minor adjustments when required.- Adhere to the Hygiene SOP for entering, exiting, and operating in the specific department.- Assist the team leader during the stock-take.

Who You Are- Must have Matric with basic numerical skills.- Machine operating and previous production experience.- Work shift pattern as defined by the company’s shift system and may also be asked to work overtime as and when required by the company’s operational requirement.- Must work well within a team and independently.- Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
