Assistant Accountant â Contract Position

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Grade12 / Matric essential
- Post matric qualification in accounting will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar Assistant Accountant role, in a retail / service / manufacturing industry.
- Working knowledge of any major ERP Systems, e.g., SAP / JDE / Sage / Odoo
- Software Experience should include MS Office and Intermediate Excel.
- Excellent communication skills on all levels, both written and verbal,
- Strong analytical skills, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Distinct passion for figures and attention to detail

**DUTIES**
- Full responsibility for managing the GRN and DNI control accounts
- Follow up with all key stakeholders to resolve any issues timeously
- Reconcile unallocated receipts, unclaimed overpayments and landed costs clearing accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with fixed assets accounting including management of fixed assets register and asset verifications
- Responsible for preparation and submission of Monthly VAT returns
- Assist with reconciliations of Adhoc balance sheet accounts
- Assist with queries as and when required as requested by Financial Manager
- Assist with Preparation of annual financial year end Audit files
- Adhoc support to creditors operations, bank processing and other accounting tasks reasonably expected of position
