Costumier / Mascot Maker

**About Us.**At Mascots SA we create Custom Made Mascots and Animatronic Characters for Corporate Promotions, Tourism, Schools & Universities, Sports Teams, Film & TV. We pride ourselves on quality work and supply our products throughout Africa and World Wide. Due to expansion we have openings for a further three creative individuals to join our teams working from our studios in Woodstock, Cape Town. We are a friendly, energetic team that work closely together to share skills to produce top quality mascots to be worn by our prestigious stable of clients.

Your Responsibilities: You will be required to build mascots from our existing set of moulds according to an approved brief. The process will include build, covering and characterisation. Your skills in hands-on 3D modelling ( not digital ), Prop making or similar will enable you to be cross trained to a valued member of the team. **PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE ONLY CONSIDERING INDIVIDUALS WITH EXCELLENT SKILLS. THIS IS NOT A TRAINEE POSITION.**

**Your Skills**:

- Excellent hands-on 3D modelling skills ( not digital ) using various mediums including clay, urethane, plastic, wood and fabrics.
- A creative approach with an excellent eye for detail.
- The ability to follow a brief and design accuratly.
- Good needlework skills.
- Artistic background for characterisation using paint techniques and airbrushing
- Excellent team player and willing to learn new techniques.

This position would ideally suit individuals who have previously worked in the film or theatrical industries with experience in making props and costumes and who is looking to work on a permanent basis, in an exciting and creative environment with all the benefits of permanent employment. Salary is negotiable and will be dependant on experience.

Pay: R12 000,00 - R20 000,00 per month
