- A relevant teaching qualification
- At least five years teaching at secondary school level or two years relevant lecturing experience at tertiary level
- Knowledge, understanding and experience in the preparation, teaching and assessment of the Subject Education

**RECOMMENDATIONS**:

- Knowledge and understanding of Education Studies
- Knowledge and understanding of the importance and challenges of SPFET Phase teaching in the 21st century
- Experience in the planning, designing and editing of teaching and learning materials (including electronic)
- Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Teaching Education in the SPFET Phase
- Academic administration
- Curriculum development and other learning material
- Assessment and Quality assurance

- Other functions as may be assigned by the Head of Department
