Director (Social Worker)

Oversee the daily management of the centre, team and all
services. This will include the HR functions in relation to all staff and
volunteers.
- Provide supervision and performance management to all Social Work
personnel.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all stakeholders,
attending and participating in all necessary meetings and activities.
- Co-ordinate and implement the business plan and any assessment
recommendations, by assigning responsibilities, providing guidance
and support, and monitoring progress towards stated goals.
- Develop and submit all necessary reports and plans
**Empower victims and mobilise**
**communities to mitigate incidences**
**and effects of crime**
- Provide individual and group crisis and/or professional counselling
services to victims of crime, and referrals to specialist service
providers.
- Research and develop therapeutic tools to be used in counselling and
group work programmes.
- Produce and maintain records of all work interventions, processes and
outcomes.
- Chairing of multidisciplinary team exit and case discussion meetings
- Support and oversee the awareness activities of the team
**3. Network and partner with diverse**
**stakeholders to improve accessibility**
**and comprehensiveness of responses**
**to victims of crime**
- Attend and actively participate in all relevant stakeholder meetings
and forums.
- Develop a comprehensive referral system and database, based on
contact details sourced through stakeholder gatherings.
- Assist in the identification of advocacy issues.
- Lobby and advocate for victims’ needs.
**Undertake special assignments, as**
**the need arises**
- Provide lay telephone and face-to-face counselling to distressed callers
and clients, when required
***Assist in and/or support other LifeLine activities and projects, when
necessary
**Key Requirements**
A 4-Year Bachelors or Honours Degree in Social Work;
Registered with SACSSP
At least 5 years therapeutic experience within the NGO sector
Knowledge of VEP practices and the relevant legislation
A valid Code 8 (EB) driver’s license
Good fund development track record
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Benoni, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- Honours (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Management: 5 years (preferred)
- Therapeutic: 5 years (preferred)
- VEP: 5 years (preferred)
- Fund development: 5 years (preferred)
License/Certification:
- SACSSP (preferred)
