My client is a leading manufacturer of grout and adhesives in Southern Africa with six (6) plants in South Africa and four (4) in other parts of Africa. The business manufactures Tile Adhesives, Grouts, Paint, Speciality and other Construction Products, and services over 700 stores. The business has invested significantly in a new plant and relocated their Support Centre to this facility in Brakpan.

We are looking for an experienced Managing Director who will be responsible for giving strategic guidance and direction to its board and employees to ensure that the Company achieves its financial vision, mission, and long-term goals. The incumbent will be required to practice and entrench the values and culture of the Group. Extensive travel both locally and internationally will be required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Give strategic advice and report results and findings to the board members and Group Executive Directors.
- Drive a high-performance culture.
- Asset management, including preventative maintenance program.
- Process and product innovation.
- Production efficiency and accuracy.
- Quality assurance.
- Keep all relevant stakeholders informed of developments with the Companys objectives.
- Manage resources, including the attracting, hiring, and retention of personnel.
- Ensure employees move in the same strategic direction to achieve it''s mission.
- Create and report on business plans, monitoring it''s efficacy and progress.
- Remain close to all stakeholders including the CEO and board members, staff, clients, key-decision makers, and external service suppliers.
- Research and implement new initiatives to drive revenue growth, improve manufacturing efficiencies, lower operating costs while maintaining quality products that are competitive.
- Deliver excellent customer support.
- Continuous monitoring of the annual budget and ensuring that revenue/sales targets are met.
- Manage and report on the effective implementation of a marketing strategy to maintain market relevance and promote products and services to increase sales.
- Manage key personnel, clients, and service providers.
- Maintain the quality of products, services, customer support, and level of service with service level agreements and other retention strategies.
- Ensure company policies and guidelines are understood and followed at all times (including industrial relations, health and safety, and environmental requirements).
- Oversee capital projects, and ensure adequate returns on investment.
- Preparation of annual reports and attending/presenting at board meetings.
- Custodianship of the Group values and culture.
