General Departmental Supervisor

_Purpose:_

The purpose of this job is to ensure the smooth running of the department, through weekly evaluations and reporting it to the Manager of the department. This is to ensure that sales targets are met and that housekeeping standards are maintained, in addition providing excellent customer service ensuring customer satisfaction. This will include overseeing all staff and the productivity of the department resulting in promoting the business therefore creating sustainable growth and profit margins.
- Key Responsibilities:_
- Ensure smooth running of departments
- Ensure daily procedures implemented
- Handle customer complaints timeously and professionally
- Handle staff matters by assigning tasks and duties as well as controlling staff movement and training
- Enforce company merchandising standards
- Ensure price updates are carried out
- Manage stock returns from customers as well as dc, suppliers, and stores
- Conduct performance reviews and evaluations
- Ensure health and safety compliance
- Manage stock through stock takes and stock management
- Enforce disciplinary code with assistance from management and HR
- Manage stock monthly. Monthly SOH, dormant, delete and negative reports
- Manage shrinkage through correct procedures being implemented
- Sound technical knowledge of paint/electrical/ lighting products
- Requirements:_
- Must have Matric or Equivalent NQF4 certification. N Level Technical certification will be an added advantage
- Minimum of 5 Years’ experience in a Supervisory role
- Minimum of 5 Years’ Paint /Electrical / Lighting product experience
- Must have Basic Retail SOP knowledge
- Experience in Disciplinary Procedures and solving staff matters
- Conducted Performance Reviews / Assessments of staff
- Proven ability to handle pressure
- Ability to communicate openly and effectively (verbal & written)
- Proven experience of Leadership skills and effectively leading a productive team
- Ability to supervise staff to achieve positive team spirit
- Must have a HIGH attention to detail
- Ability to act professional and maintain confidentiality at all times
- Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Internet, E-mails) workable knowledge
