**_ Position Purpose:_**
- Provide leadership and support to business on digital and robotics, use machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions,

techniques and capabilities to perform and enhance data discovery and insights to ensure business is operationally capable
- of delivering their required objectives in an economical, efficient and effective manner
- Develop knowledge based world class digital solutions for Transnet and oversee research activities

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Design competitive customer centric digital delivery solutions using big data, to contribute to sustainable value creation for

all stakeholders.
- Creating and overseeing a comprehensive long term innovation strategy for the company
- Meeting with stakeholders at different levels to identify areas of innovation and growth
- Presenting new ideas and approaches to stakeholders at different levels
- Provide end-to-end execution of all prioritised approved strategic iniatives, including technology system enhancements,

replacements and other projects through collaborative action of approved, optimised and limited resources.
- Drive and influence the transformation of the digital, technology and data led culture and skills across the operating divisions

and support functions.
- Facilitate knowledge and information sharing across the organisation.
- Influence the practical and effective implementation and embedment of digital, technology and data solutions across the

operating divisions and support functions

and scoring, up to software engineering/code development
- Lead and develop a team to enhance the innovative potential of the business, coach and mentor staff as required
- Reporting on and adapting innovative interventions within Transnet as required.
- Manage expenditure in line with the priorities within budgetary constraints and report deviations
- Continuously research and develop insights from in silico studies and analysis of diverse datasets to assist in making

informed decisions
**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- Degree in strategy, leadership, business or management
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT, technology, business, marketing or finance related fields
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior management position
- An understanding of the concepts such as RPA, blockchain, AI, machine learning and cognitive computing
- Requirement of trust and honesty in the handling of finances as per the National Credit Act Amendment 19
