Banqueting Manager

Our client a 5-start hostel based in the Helderberg area of Cape Town close to somerset west, is recruiting for a Banqueting Manager to start soonest.

A 5* hotel with extensive banqueting facilities seeks an experienced & innovative hotel banqueting manager with the following essential requirements:

- Matric certificate or equivalent.
- Diploma in Food and Beverage / Hospitality and/or recognized professional qualifications from a reputable institution or hotel school.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a similar role in a five-star establishment or convention center.
- Extensive experience in negotiating and communicating with clients and staff.
- Managing and servicing banqueting events for over 150 people.
- Experience in asset and furniture management.
- Experience in inventory (stock) management, control, and count experience.
- Computer literacy in various computer software programs (MS Office, procurement management, Protel, and Lightspeed point of sale)
- Must have own transport.
- Shift, late, and weekend work applies.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of financial principles.
- Tech Savvy would be an added advantage.

Extra Information:

- To ensure the effective planning and execution of all types of events and banquets.
- Monitoring and upholding standards always set within the Company and ensuring that all events are staffed adequately to optimize client’s satisfaction.
- Management of staffing costs and productivity on the floor, managing that staff adhere to procedures on handling the operating equipment and furniture.
- To ensure that staff adhere to venue setups as per the floor plans and that the venues are always kept clean.
- Required to liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders. and to ensure that the health and safety standards are adhered to by all staff at all the times.

**Salary**: R17,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
