- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or delivery commitments.
- Develop and document standard and emergency operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, delivering, or salvaging products or materials.
- Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, or government regulations.
- Analyze the financial impact of proposed schedule changes such as shift allowances and working hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of products or materials in warehouse.
- Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
- Train and actively motivate warehouse and supervisory personnel.
- Confer with department heads to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production vs sales.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, or training or safety records.
- Develop or implement plans for facility modification such as equipment purchase or changes in space allocation.
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external systems or processes.
- Review invoices, work orders, consumption reports, or demand forecasts to estimate peak performance periods and to issue work assignments.
- Ensure that liability forms and investigations for short-delivered stock, wrongfully delivered stock, etc. are done in a timeous manner and submitted to the relevant responsible person for the final sign off.
- Monitor and oversee the preparation of the warehouse for the monthly stoke take. This includes ensuring that enough workers are available to participate in the stock take.
- Ensure that the strapping team is working efficiently and that the products are strapped in a timeous manner.
- Develop and implement procedures and/or processes to ensure that the roofing area is kept clean and record and report aged/cancelled roofing.
- Develop and implement procedures and/or processes to ensure that the trains are off loaded and sent back to production as quickly as possible
- Ensure that stock is strapped, packed away and that trolleys are returned to production.
- Develop, implement, oversee, and manage procedures and processes regarding the special products shelf to ensure that the products are signed for by Dispatch and old products are followed up on.
- Develop and implement efficient receiving and processing of warehouse stock products.
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits and for the monthly stock take.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules, and regulations
- HOUSEKEEPING
- Ensure dispatch and warehouse floors are washed at least twice a week, managing the use of sweeping and scrubbing machines and doing regular inspections.
- Ensure that the warehouse is clean, neat and organized and overseeing that all Dispatch staff are involved in keeping the warehouse neat and clean.
