Job Title: Au Pair for Two Young Children - Durbanville Area

A wonderful opportunity for an au pair to offer support and guidance for two siblings, each with their own unique passions and personalities. The eldest, with a curiosity for knowledge and facts on the world around him, and his love for all things dinosaur-related. His younger sister, shares her sibling's enthusiasm for imaginative play and exploration.

Main Purpose of the Job:
Job Objectives:
We are looking for someone with a more firm, but kind and understanding approach who can implement boundaries and facilitate learning, but through a safe interpersonal relationship.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address the 6-year-old's individual needs.

Offer companionship and emotional support to both children.

Provide support for the 6-year-old's regulation needs, lessening uncertainty and anxiety.

Assist with occasional child pick-up.

Engage in child-led play activities based on their interests.

Support the understanding of the 6-year-old's sensory profile and executive functioning.

Light housework and assistance with daily tasks.

Prepare lunch and snacks for the children.

Facilitate contextualisation of social interactions, support sibling relationships, and provide guidance on social skills.

General Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable car (Essential).

Fluent in English (Essential).

Fun, playful, and relaxed demeanor with a non-demanding approach.

Job Related Experience:
Previous experience supporting neurodivergent children (Essential).

Job Related Knowledge:
Familiarity with a low-arousal, child-led, neuro-affirming approach (Essential).

Knowledge of the unique support needs of neurodivergent individuals (Essential).

Understanding of managing challenging behavior and meltdowns (Essential).

Job Related Skills:
Ability to minimise stress and anxiety using a low-arousal approach (Essential).

Strong verbal communication skills (Essential).

Organisational skills and ability to implement structure (Essential).

Social, play, and life skills (Essential).

Relationship-building skills (Essential).

Working Hours:
Mon - Thur: 13:30 - 18:30

Fri: 13:15 - 18:15

During school holidays: +- 6 hours per day.

Pay: R8 000,00 - R12 000,00 per month

Expected hours: 25 per week
