Deputy Academic Head

**Overall, Purpose of the Job**
This is a management role that is crucial for maintaining academic standards, driving academic quality, and ensuring the smooth operation of educational programs.
We are looking for a hands on person who is able to stream line the current team, and implement strong processes as clear as possible and ensure successful delivery in projects, operations and programmes.
**Academic Management**
**Curriculum Development and Implementation**
Overseeing the development and review of the curriculum to ensure it meets educational standards and the needs of students.
**Academic Planning**
Setting academic goals for the institution and developing strategies to achieve them. Coordinating and managing the examinations and annual graduation ceremonies.
**Student Support Services**
Ensuring that students have access to necessary academic support services, such as tutoring, counseling, and advising. The improvement of student retention rates through the management of quality student support interventions and strategies to improve student perseverance/resilience. Handling student disputes and complaints and working with other Senior Managers to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
**Quality Assurance**
Implementing processes for assessment and evaluation of academic programs and courses to ensure they meet quality standards.
**Policy Development**
Developing and enforcing academic policies and procedures in line with institutional goals and regulations.
**Budget Management**
Working with administrative staff to prepare and manage the academic budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
**Stakeholder Engagement**
Collaborating with students, parents, faculty, and the community to foster a positive educational environment.
**Data Analysis and Reporting**
Tracking academic performance metrics, analyzing data to inform decision-making, and improving student success. Preparing reports for stakeholders.
**Professional Development**
Creating opportunities for faculty development, including workshops, seminars, and conferences to enhance teaching skills and academic knowledge.
**Technology Integration**
Overseeing technology integration into the curriculum and teaching practices to enhance learning experiences.
**Compliance**
Ensuring that the institution complies with the various Quality Council regulations regarding education and training. Manages internal and external academic audit processes.
**Staff Management**
Recruiting, training, and evaluating faculty and academic staff. Providing academic leadership and support to ensure an effective and supportive student journey. Handling tutor complaints.
**Education**:
1. We require someone with at least 5 years within a similar role
2. Education Degree is a must and Masters is an advantage
3. Loves to learn and upskill themselves with various courses
This role is currently based in Stellenbosch.
**Job Type**: Permanent
Pay: R40 000,00 - R55 000,00 per month
