- Resource and manage the remuneration and benefits department within budget, including effective administration and reporting, timeous processing of remuneration documentation upon receipt from sites and HR system data integrity.
- Lead, develop, train and coach employees to ensure effective day to day operations in alignment with M&RC’s values
- Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of work practices and systems in line with legislation, relevant governance does and industry best practice
- Conduct job matching, manage the job title catalogue and relevant naming conventions to ensure job titles are aligned to the work levels and job grades
- Calculate employee benefits, PAYE and remuneration packages in line with in country / cross border regulations; compare packages and costing build ups to what was tendered for the role
- Participate in wage negotiations, assist with the compilation of increase models/mandate and rollout of the increase to the business
- Participate in the mining industry salary surveys, interpret market salary surveys, undertake comparative analysis and communicate findings to management
- Manage letter of appointment/employee contract templates and track changes in legislation, benefits and project requirements to ensure timeous template updates
- Research and benchmark best practice in remuneration and employee benefits, provide input into strategy formulation and develop standards, policies, procedures and processes accordingly
- Participate in and collate information for RemCo and administer the annual bonus, STI and increase process
- Implement controls and effective monitoring systems to manage risk and ensure confidentiality of HR information
- Conduct regular internal audits, participate in external audits and ensure HR documents are maintained and stored to standard
- Advise line managers on HR remuneration and compensation and conduct training to HR, employee and line forums
- Build relationships with 3rd parties and cross functionally to ensure efficient delivery against common objectives
- Participate in the Provident/Retirement Fund board of trustees in line with fiduciary duties
- Proactive risk analysis, identification and mitigation in line in-country / cross border regulations and M&RC’s standards, procedures, policies and safety protocols
- Travel to site as required

**Minimum requirements**
- BA/BCom Human Resources Management related degree
- SARA professional designation / certifications (advantageous)
- Business Management qualification (advantageous)
- Proficient in MS Office [Advanced Excel essential]
- Proficient in HR and Payroll systems (Sage advantageous)
- Leadership and enablement skills
- Strategic, analytical and commercial thinking skills
- Sound financial acumen skills with ability to calculate employee benefits, PAYE and remuneration packages
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including a customer service orientation
- Excellent communication skills with ability to persuade, influence, negotiate and facilitate understanding at all levels
- High level of discretion, confidentiality and integrity
- Minimum 5 years relevant remuneration and benefits management experience preferably in the mining/construction industry
- Proven depth of experience calculating employee benefits, PAYE and remuneration packages, in country and cross border (expatriate salaries/wages)
- Experience conducting job evaluations, preferably using Paterson levels
- Experience assisting with wage negotiations and compiling increase mandates/models
- Experience interpreting salary market surveys and conducting comparative analysis in country and cross border
- Experience working with provident/retirement funds, preferably at Trustee level
- Comprehensive understanding of labour legislations, SARS legislations, payroll, job grading, interpreting and analysing market salary surveys, King Corporate Governance and relevant governance codes that influence sphere of job
- Knowledge of Provident / Retirement Fund Acts and trustee duties
