**Job summary**:
The **Director Regional New Site Build and Capital Projects** is responsible to define, deploy and maintain methods, processes and tools used in new site build and capital projects in Africa. The incumbent must collaborate with markets to define the required methods, processes and tools to support new site build and capital projects.

The **Director Regional New Site Build and Capital Projects** is responsible to drive Regional New Site Build Performance, Coordination and Reporting. The incumbent must coordinate and align new site build forecasts between markets and regional customer groups.

The **Director Regional New Site Build and Capital Projects** will work closely with the regional functions such as commercial, business development, sourcing and supply chain, market sales and market operations to ensure the company’s projects meets customer expectations in terms of SLAs, lead time, quality and cost.

The **Director Regional New Site Build and Capital Projects **will be** **responsible to lead cross functional teams that develop methods and procedures to meet operational needs in the region.

**Requirements**:

- Relevant Project Management or Construction Management Degree and post-graduate qualification, preferably Master’s Degree.
- 10 years + experience in the Telecommunications industry, Engineering field

**Responsibilities**:
**New Site Build Framework**
- Define and maintain a framework that includes methods, processes and tools used in new site build.
- Ensure that all project management tools, such as Siterra, Smartsheet solutions and Office Track and Reporting are developed, implemented, and continuously improved
- Drive deployment and adoption of the new site build framework in the company’s African markets.
- Document and maintain the best practice view of organizational structure and staffing to support new builds in the Africa markets.
- Support key regional new site build projects as required.
- Monitor the execution of the roll-out plans in close collaboration with all stakeholders and provide guidance where needed. For New Build projects, this includes advise, guidance and monitoring on Site Acquisitioning, Permitting and Construction.
- For Build to Fill projects, this includes advise, guidance and monitoring:

- Identifying nominals that will be attractive to customers with potential to expedite collocations through the utilization of Databases (Crowsource data, Google BigQuery and ArcGis) Analytical software and Market Intelligence.
- Train and Upskill sales force to market sites so that customer understand value of nominals.
- Provide input to the relevant functions on how to reduce new site build cost.
- Continuously evaluate policies and procedures to improve efficiencies.
- Work closely with the regional functions such as commercial, business development, sourcing and supply chain, market sales and market operations to ensure the company’s projects meets customer expectations in terms of SLAs, lead time, quality and cost.
- Monitor the enforcement of Health and Safety and Security policies in new site build.
- Mentor and Train in market Project Management Teams and/or arrange collaboration between markets to ensure best practices are established.
- Ensure that risks are identified, managed, and mitigated.
- Anticipate and/or identify risks and implement mitigating actions to limit negative impacts.

**Capital Projects Framework**
- Define and maintain a framework that includes methods, processes and tools used in capital projects.
- Drive adoption of the capital projects framework adoption in the company’s African markets.
- Document and maintain the best practice view of organizational structure and staffing to support capital projects in the Africa markets.
