Access Control Technician

A CCTV and Access Control Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and access control systems. They work closely with clients and other team members to ensure the proper functioning and security of CCTV and access control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, including cameras, monitors, cabling, and related equipment.
- Install, configure, and maintain access control systems, including card readers, keypads, and related hardware.
- Troubleshoot and repair CCTV and access control systems, including identifying and resolving technical issues, such as connectivity problems, software glitches, and hardware failures.
- Conduct regular system testing, performance tuning, and software/firmware upgrades to ensure optimal system functionality.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other team members to gather system requirements, provide technical recommendations, and develop project plans.
- Provide technical support to clients and end-users, including responding to service calls, conducting system training, and addressing inquiries or issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and service tickets.
- Follow industry best practices, safety guidelines, and company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Keep up-to-date with advancements in CCTV and access control technologies through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in CCTV and access control systems is preferred.
- Proven experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting CCTV and access control systems.
- Knowledge of various CCTV and access control system types, brands, and components, including IP-based and analog systems.
- Proficient in using testing equipment, hand tools, and software tools for system configuration and diagnostics.
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, and PoE.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in various environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, and to lift and carry heavy equipment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for traveling to job sites.

**Salary**: R4,500.00 - R7,500.00 per month
