- Reporting to Sales Manager- Purpose of Job: Conduct sales in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers- Important Key Performance Areas:

- Focus Area: Sales:
- Promote, market and sell company products as specified by the Sales Manager in order to meet customers’ requirements
- Generate and close sales leads, educate prospects, fill needs and satisfy wants of the customer
- Sales leads could be self-generated, through the company website or door-to-door marketing
- Service existing account, obtain orders and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to call on existing or potential sales customers
- Assist customers in finding solutions in the most profitable manner
- Ensure customer satisfaction at all times
- When allocated an internal sale from the company website, ensure that the exact requirements from the customer is understood, provide the customer with a quote and should the quote be accepted, send the client a purchase order
- If required, go to client site to do a site layout, survey and plan as well the necessary measurements in order to do a quote
- Ensure that sales targets are met
- Quoting:
- Assist customers requesting quotes
- Ensure quotations are generated in accordance with the company quoting system and standards
- Ensure the internals have correct and accurate information needed to generate quotes by doing a site survey in accordance with company site survey procedure
- Customer Service:
- Keep in contact with new customers as per sale plan
- New customer generation
- Provide technical information and support to customers
- Liaising with factory to provide feedback re clients’ needs
- Liaising with drawing departments in order to ensure understanding of customer needs
- Provide feeding regarding market related trends
- Leads:
- Respond to sales lead telephonically
- Housekeeping and Health/Safety:
- Investigating and setting standards for quality and Health and Safety
- Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
- Achieve housekeeping standards
- Ensure that the required housekeeping standards are maintained in the workplace
- Adhere to Health and Safety standards
- Team Effectiveness:
- Prepare adequately and participate actively and constructively in meetings
- Proactively provide advice leading to improvement or resolution of problem areas identified
- Create consultative conditions and build relationships so that advice is sought
- Understand and live the values of the team
- Undertake any other activity/task required within own scope and abilities
- Attend team meetings
- Achieve team goals**Inherent Requirements**
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 together with a sales and marketing qualification- Minimum Experience required:
- At least 2+ years experience in a Technical related External Sales position- Industry knowledge and experience preferred- Strong New Business Development skills, negotiate and close deals- Technical skills:
- Computer skills- Presentation skills, sales skills, closing skills- Troubleshooting skills- Behavioural Skills:
- Excellent communication skills- Ability to work under pressure- Ability to build relationships**What Qualification**
