Junior Lecturer

**Junior Lecturer - Human Nutrition**

In support of the strategic objectives of the School of Health Care Sciences and the Department of

Junior Lecturer position. Prospective applicants must show willingness to also pursue postgraduate

**Requirements**:

- A Bachelor’s degree; BSc in Dietetics or B. Nutrition
- Registered as a registered dietitian with the Health Professions Council of South Africa
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a registered dietitian
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of teaching in higher education
- Experience in both face-to
- face and online facilitation of teaching, learning and assessment

activities
- Registered for a relevant Master’s degree
- A postgraduate diploma in higher education or certificate in assessment and moderation will be

an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Deadline driven, ability to multi-task, organise, plan, work under pressure and long hours

**Duties**
- Facilitation of teaching and learning assessment activities of students at undergraduate level in

Basic Nutrition and other programs within the University
- Develop study material in Basic Nutrition and related disciplines
- Supervise undergraduate research
- Foster collaboration in research, teaching, and community engagement in the field of Nutrition

and Dietetics
- Engage in own research, publish and present at national and international conferences
- Engage in delegated University Committees
- Perform and contribute to all the Departmental administrative duties
