Retail Sales

You will be responsible for but not limited to:
Manage the sales team
Manage and exceed personal and portfolio sales targets
Successfully create business from new and existing customer accounts
Manage complex negotiations with senior-level executives
Build rapport and establish long term relationships with customers
Managing a team of 5 - 7 sales consultants as well as the day-to-day running’s of the showroom (may require 1 or 2 Saturdays a month)
Responsible for the overall sales performance of a team (from setting sales goals to training and supporting)
Oversee the entire sales process from lead generation to closing deals (including projects)
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales activities and results
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns and events
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends
**Sales Strategy**: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets and increase profitability
**Product Knowledge**: Maintain deep knowledge of the bathroom products offered, including fixtures, fittings, and accessories, to effectively assist customers.
**Team Leadership**: Supervise and motivate sales staff, ensuring they adhere to store policies and deliver high levels of customer service
**Training**: Train new hires and provide ongoing coaching to staff on sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service skills
**Scheduling**: Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak times and manage time-off requests, as well as Saturday shifts
**Inventory Management**: Oversee inventory levels, including ordering and restocking products, and manage supplier relationships to ensure product availability
**Visual Merchandising**: Ensure the store layout and product displays are attractive, organized, and aligned with current promotional themes or sales strategies
**Sales Reporting**: Monitor sales performance and prepare reports on sales trends, staff performance, and inventory status for upper management
**Budgeting**: Develop and manage budgets for the department, including setting sales goals and managing expenses, with the financial manager
**Pricing**: Ensure pricing is competitive and reflects current promotions or discounts, and manage markdowns as needed. Including Slow moving stock promotions and marketing
**Compliance**: Ensure the store complies with health, safety, and legal regulations, including those specific to retail operations
**Valued skill set**:
National / Local sales experience is highly valued in the sanitary ware market
Has a needs-based selling approach that focuses on building a relationship with a customer or prospect, and identifying solutions to their challenges through open-ended questions and active listening
Strong ability to take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
Has the proven ability to co-create relevant projects with new and existing customers that is customer centric
Has the ability to separate themselves from frustrating situations and guide the customer consultatively to an agreeable solution
Strong organization and time management skills
Is an active team player and contributes to the team
Thrives in the sanity ware environment
**Education**:
Matric
Diploma / Certificate (Sales & Marketing)
Extensive experience in sales within the tap and sanitary ware industry, a strong familiarity with the construction sector, and proven skills in managing staff and client relationships (In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including familiarity with architectural specifications and construction processes)
Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience with sales
Demonstratable track record of over achieving targets
Experience in planning and implementing sales strategies
Dedication to providing great customer service
Computer Literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Pastel
**Skills**:
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
Ability to work in a faced paced, dynamic environment and meet strict deadlines
Excellent verbal
- and written communication skills (English & Afrikaans)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
