Support Consultant

A Telematics hardware and software specialist company, providing products and services to clients globally within the Commercial Fleet, Usage Based Insurance, Vehicle OEM and Vehicle After-market sectors. We have direct presence in South Africa, France, Ireland, Latvia, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia and Thailand along with a Distributor Network spanning across all continents.
Purpose of Job:
Key Responsibilities Activities
1. Verify that the reporting system is up and running and that data is current. Immediately report any problems to Support Services.
2. Investigate units not reporting by process of elimination.
3. Responsible for identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems relating to all company based products.
4. Check reporting units are reporting trip information.
5. Track and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution while keeping the client updated at all times.
8. Understand and interpret customer questions and needs.
9. Develop and maintain relationships with clients by regular communication.
10. Set up weekly meetings with customer team to provide progress updates.
11. Attend daily internal team meetings.
12. Set up meetings with customer’s management (minutes to be distributed following day).
13. Update KPI on the last working day of each month (required for monthly Scorecard).
14. Update and maintain Time & Attendance system daily.
15. Activate and manage SIM cards/accounts on SIM management platform.
16. Monitor that all newly installed vehicles are reporting accurately through the software platform/s.
17. Assist with other Scope activities if/when required.
18. Report any key issues (hardware, software or operational) to Team Leader and Support Manager.
Experience/Qualities Qualifications
- Previous experience from within a vehicle tracking/fleet management company advantageous.
- Understanding of Telematics technologies highly advantageous.
- Thorough experience utilizing Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Thorough command of English and French languages (verbal and written).
- Ability to exercise good judgment to solve problems where the answer is not apparent.
- Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems.
- Strong interpersonal skills - must be able to interact well with internal staff.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Highly motivated and able to take initiative with little direction.
