Head: Strategic Financial Planning

To provide overall leadership and direction of the strategic financial planning department of the organisation, including shaping and implementing the financial strategy, developing plans, analyzing data, and aligning goals to achieve the organization’s objectives.
Monitoring & evaluation and continuous reporting to various committees with the intention of achieving and maximizing stakeholder value over the course of number of years.
**Qualification and Experience** Qualifications**
- Post graduate Qualification g. CA (SA); or equivalent with strong technical expertise
- MBA would be advantageous.
**Knowlege and **Experience**
- Preferably 10 - 12 years’ experience
- Proven Management experience
- Knowledge of IFRS, Tax, Auditing and PFMA.
- Strong commercial awareness
- Strong financial statement analysis skills
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of integrity
- Excellent presentation skills - demonstrated excellent verbal and visual presentation skill
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint at an advance level
- Practical knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
- Experience working in a high-level collaborative environment
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities while building effective relationships
**Roles and Responsibilities** Financial Perspective**
- Manage and coordinate the five-year Financial Planning process in support of the Corporate Plan for the Organisation.
- Manage and drive the Operational Budgeting and ongoing monitoring there-of while engaging business to ensure bottom-up approach for each budget year;
- Ensure maintenance of validity, accuracy and relevance of Financial Models for Financial Planning models in line with changes in Accounting Standards and Tax Laws;
- Ensure financial soundness of all inputs and decisions through engagement with relevant stakeholders in Financial Plan formulation
- Conducts research and data analysis; monitor of industry and market trends to inform business decisions, and aligns department goals with the overall strategy
- Decisions in Financial Planning to maintain the organisation's Financial Sustainability
- Providing predictive analysis and forecasting to provide the organisation with a valuable insight and recommendations
**Internal Processes**
- Provide accurate and timely financial service including setting and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, cash flow analysis, management and financial accounts and advice and support to inform decision making at all levels
- Participate in strategy formulation and implementation for the Financial Management Strategy.
- Ensure all regulatory requirements are adhered to i.e., national treasury reporting
- Effectively formulate and implement systems and procedures to ensure compliance and provide innovative solutions to take the business forward
- Provide effective management and leadership to direct reports and the team
- Ensure that there are no significant new or repeat audit findings
- Define and implement strategic objectives of the department

- Ensure the effective management of human resources in the unit, including employee motivation and development.
- Protect the interest and wellbeing of employees and establish suitable communication lines with the team.
- Oversee the implementation of talent management initiatives within the unit (Employee Engagement, Mentoring and Coaching and Succession Management).
- Drive and embed transformational leadership imperatives and enabling a culture of performance, delivery and a people first culture.
**Team relations**
- Provide clear leadership and foster a team culture consistent with the corporate values.
- Lead the transformation and empowerment of individuals within the unit.
- Drive a culture of high performance and facilitate skills and knowledge transfer.
