The Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) was established through the Property Valuation Act No. 17 of 2014 (PVA), which became effective from the 1st of August 2015. During the 2017/18 financial year, the OVG was listed, by the Minister of Finance, as a schedule 3(A) Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act.

**Responsibilities**: Successful applicants will be required to exercise their oversight mandate towards the OVG through the effective execution of responsibilities as outlined in Chapter 27 of the Treasury Regulations and the approved Audit and Risk Committee Charter.

**Requirements**:Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements**:

- NQF level 8 qualification in either Risk Management, Auditing, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- Professionally certified as an IRMSA’s Certified Risk Management Practitioner (CRM Prac) or the IIA’s Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
- 10 years or more experience in a Risk Management functional or assurance role.

**Only applicants meeting the minimum requirements listed above should apply.** Knowledge of the Property Valuation Act, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and other public sector legislation is required. Previous experience in serving on oversight committees will be an added advantage. **Attributes**:Successful applicants will be required to commit to and display the following attributes: Understanding of Public Sector environment and its operations; an understanding of OVG’s mandate as well as knowledge of its functions; Integrity; Professionalism; Dedication; Independent Judgement; and good Communication skills.

**Remuneration is paid in line with SAICA’S AGSA rates guidelines.**
