To review the IDD projects scope of work, client requirements, project objectives and constraints to develop the scheduling strategy for effective project delivery. Ensuring that programme and project teams in the Infrastructure Delivery Division are supported in the development of the project plan and translate the plan into a workable project schedule.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Functional**

Function as the lead scheduler for the division wherein the following duties are to be undertaken:
Support management with the allocation of work for schedulers.

Develop, maintain, and enforce standard scheduling practice across programmes and projects.

Monitor, analyse and report on schedule performance across programmes and projects.

Support compliance with Project and Programme Management System (PPMS)

Support and assist with enhancements to PPMS.

Review the scope of work, client requirements, project objectives and constraints to develop scheduling strategy for effective project delivery.

Develop an integrated plan to effectively execute the scope of work and meet project objectives by identifying schedule areas for the further definition of the scope of work.

Develop and implement the project Schedule Management Plan as well as provide inputs to development of Infrastructure Programme Implementation Plans (IPIPs) and Project Execution Plans (PEPs).

Prepare project specific procedures relating to schedule management and control.

Support the project team’s efforts in the development of the project plan and translate the plan into a workable project schedule including Master Schedules.

Analyse the project schedule for time impacts, delay analysis as well as forecasting (trend analysis, Including schedule reserve).

Provide early warnings to the project team by informing them of anticipated changes to the schedule as well as the outcome.

Develop options for corrective actions and/or acceleration opportunities.

Identify milestones and the critical path (including multiple / near critical paths).

Ensure schedule integration between all disciplines (Engineering and design; procurement and construction, including contractor and sub-contractor schedule/s).

Conduct Earned Value Analysis.

Ensure regular maintenance, updating and reporting of the schedule.

Provide schedule project close out reports by recording the project’s historical schedule information and lessons learned for use in future projects

**Expertise & Technical Competencies**:
**Minimum Requirements**

Qualifications or Certifications in Project Management or Scheduling / Project Planning or equivalent.

5 -10 years relevant experience in a similar role as Project Planner/Scheduler preferably within the built environment projects environment,

Proven track record of excellent writing and presentation skills

Developing Project and Programme Master Schedules

**Skills and Knowledge**

Strong Project Management knowledge and experience

Enterprise project / programme management systems

Extensive knowledge in implementation and using of Primavera P6 and MS Project.

**Technical Competencies**

Written Communication

Understands that different writing styles are required for different documents or audiences.

Write effective correspondence, prepares questions and reports, statements of circumstance and briefing notes.

Has a solid mastery of writing principles such as grammar, sentence construction etc.

Reporting

Designs / customizes reports to meet user needs.

Prepares complex or tailored reports, gathers information from a variety of sources, analyses and includes in a report.

Keeps standard reports under review and proposes improvements to meet user needs.

Identifies complex problems based on a broad range of factors, many of which are ambiguous or difficult to define.

While remaining guided by organisational values, identifies optimal solutions, thinking first in terms of possible approaches and flexibilities in the system vs. blind adherence to rules or procedures.
