The purpose of this position is to ;
- Achieving high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in receiving, identifying, dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
- Coordinate daily activities such as receiving goods, storing goods and dispatching goods.
- Ensure shipments’ and inventory transactions’ accuracy.
- Ensure timely shipping with accurate timeframes that suit all parties involved.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance.
- Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.

SPAN OF CONTROL
- This role is accountable for Pietermaritzburg DC Forklift drivers and Outbound Controllers. This role will report into the Outbound Logistics Manager for PMB.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & OUTPUTS

Outbound Supervisor - Deep Focus
- Warehousing and Inventory_
- Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in dispatching and assuring quality of goods.
- Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee’s performance.
- Ensure accuracy of shipments, in line with transactions.
- Communicate job expectations and coach employees
- Determine staffing levels and assign workload
- Interface with Cutting department to ensure efficient warehouse output.
- Maintain items record, document necessary information and utilize reports to project warehouse status.
- Identify and propose areas of improvement.
- Coordinate activities with other departments such as Commercial and Transport service providers

- Ensure sage working environment for warehouse associates.
- Monitoring work and ensuring the safe use of warehouse equipment.
- Ensure housekeeping is kept to company standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 / Matric with mathematics or math’s literacy
- Completed CTFL Learnership is advantageous
- Carpet technology/Production technology (completed or in progress) in advantageous
- Computer literacy - must have experience working on a computer and use MS packages (Word/Excel/Teams)
- Valid Driver’s License is essential
- A good understanding of the processes in an Outbound/DC Warehouse environment is essential.
